Taylor Kennedy studied Finance at Cambridge University then received a B.A. in Economics and a B.S. in Cell and Molecular Biology from Tulane University before pursuing a career in photography. He has worked for the National Geographic Society for over ten years in various staff and contract capacities ranging from photographer, videographer, photo lab flunky, writer, photo editor, product manager, and various other fun and interesting positions.
He has been published as a cover or feature article in a wide variety of publications including The Vancouver Sun, The Globe and Mail, The Washington Post, The Billings (Montana) Gazette, Ulysse Magazine, National Geographic Magazine, National Geographic Channel, National Geographic Traveler, National Geographic Books, World Magazine, National Geographic News, National Geographic for kids, Partir, Endless Vacations and many more. Corporate clients have included AT&T, the US Chamber of Commerce, National Geographic Society, AmericaScores, the Robert F Kennedy Journalism Awards, and the Government of Prince Edward Island. His work has also been published in various forms ranging from puzzles and music CDs to advertisements and brochures. It has been exhibited in various venues including the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History and the National Geographic Society Headquarters. He was selected to be part of the 2006 "Best of the Best" Nature's Best Magazine special edition. He currently lives in the wilds of Sooke, British Columbia, Canada.
